Based on a picture of Hongyadong in Chongqing, China, I created this piece to show the joy of city lights at night time. One of my favorite activities is to explore city attractions at night when the city is bustling and glowing. I wanted this piece to convey that magic with the traditional Chinese aspect. For my line work, I took inspiration from traditional Chinese artwork, especially in my depiction of the trees and lanterns. And the Mandarin characters at the top say "Hongyadong" in the same style as the light sources. Overall, I wanted to bring this bright, beautiful city attraction to life in my illustration style.
