I chose to create a brand for the fictional company Umamiya. Umamiya is a Japanese flavor manufacturing company that provides scientifically enhanced flavors to various clients. Their clients include ice cream companies, pet food companies, toothpaste manufacturers, and medical companies. Umamiya strives for a classy, fresh, professional feeling that is welcoming and widely accessible. The idea for the logo was based on the Japanese folklore creature the Kitsune. I thought the creature applied to Umamiya because its nine tails in mythology means strength, and nine tails can refer to Umamiya's wide client range. The Kitusne is also a shapeshifting creature, and Umamiya similarly enhances flavors with technology and science to become even better.
